The only real difference between this one and mine are
the design of the helmet, and the silver swans head collared by a gold
crown as the crest, rather than a black lion collared by a blue and white
wreath. This one can be traced back as far as Sir John Blackwell
who was a knight and who was crushed by the crowd at the coronation of
Edward II on the 24th of February 1307. His arms are defined as below.
Arms: Paly of six, or and az; on a chief, gu, a lion passant, guardant,
or, all within a bordure ermine.
Crest: A swan's head and neck, erased, arg, ducally gorged, or.
Motto: Petit, ardua virtus. (sources: BTG and BN v6p23). (I am not
sure of what this motto means yet)
