I see her walkin' towards me
this time I'll do it I bet
She draws closer and closer
my palms begin to sweat

Like a bass drum in my chest
my heart begins to beat
pulsating so vigorously
the throbbing hits my feet

As I think of embracing her
my nerves begin to twitch
suddenly I realize at this point
my direction cannot switch

She's only a touch away
my stomach starts to churn
I try to think of what to say
and my chest begins to burn

As I try to tell her "Hi!"
my voice starts to crack
this sends an arctic chill
racing sown my back

I try to speak to her
but the words get all jambled
every word I try to say
it comes out all scrambled

I quickly stop my words
take a breath and look above
I look back in her eyes and say
"What I mean to say is...
                                      you are the one I love."
